9 year old twins received this for their birthday and absolutely love it! All ages (from 6-12 years for the kids and adults) in our family have enjoyed playing, and I love how easy it is for the kids to play on their own. I had been tempted by the lower cost options, but am glad I spent a little more for a quality set. Unlike the other ones I saw online, the wood is beautiful and the marbles look very pretty and are an ideal size. Decorative enough to keep out on a coffee table if you want. No risk of splinters and it's very easy to scoop the marbles up. They also fit well in the cups, even when there are a lot in one cup. The game is also easier to play with the large cups on the end which not all sets have. Definitely recommend mancala in general and this set in particular!
